ABOUT

Welcome to The Little Shnitzel House

This is the finest experience in formal dining
and the ultimate in culinary pampering.

Marlis and Ottmar Bloebaum created The Little Schnitzel House restaurant located at 65 Albert Street South in Lindsay at the beginning of March. They came to Canada with their sons Sascha and Jens from Germany in 1992. Ottmar is a professional European chef and worked for eight years in the “hafenmuehle” restaurant, an establishment well known for its German and French cuisine. His wife Marlis was the hostess and managed the restaurant. Their sons have followed their parents footsteps. Sascha is working in Peterborough as a waiter and Jen, while helping is father in the kitchen. The reason for their success lies in the fact that they buy only quality fresh meats, fish, produce, herbs and spices. That means that all meals are prepared to the guest’s choice and wishes. Consequently, these preparations take a little bit more time.

On the menu you will find mainly German dishes like Goulash sup and fresh salad with special home made dressing, Schnitzel a la Wien, Jaeger's Schnitzel, Cordon Blue, fresh fish with melted butter potatoes, home made noodles and real home fries etc, The good wine selection will complement each meal to it’s fullest. For dessert await Ferman Torten, Bitenenstch, Black Forest Cake, Apfel Strudel and other home made delicacies with freshly made whipped cream and very special coffees. This is the finest experience in formal dining and the ultimate in culinary pampering. The luncheon menu offers home made soups, special Wiener Sausages, freshly made potato salad, potato pancakes, and sandwiches of all kinds.

Marlis and Ottmar will again create a nice warm, quiet and homey atmosphere within which they would like to spoil their guests. Since there are only 10 tables. The setting will be cozy and personal attention is the fare. Reservations, especially on week-ends, would be in order.

Marlis and Ottmar would like to let all their loyal patrons know that they will be waiting for them, ready to spoil them again. They would also like to extend an invitation to all those of you that have not been there. They will welcome you with open arms and also spoil you, so that you will leave only to return again.
